"What is love?”
"It’s just chilling, you know? Kicking it with somebody, talking, making mad stupid jokes. And, like, not even wanting to go to sleep, cause then you might be without ‘em for a minute. And you don’t want that."
I went to a wedding this weekend.
Well, I was actually in a wedding this weekend, but I spent most of my time following the bride’s schedule and observing the insane power of love at work.
The bride is a great friend of mine, the sister of one of my best friends, and on Saturday, she got married to the most amazing person and wonderful man I’ve met in a long time. The look of complete love on their faces was so intense it brought tears to my eyes, which is no easy feat if I’m crying about something good.
It kind of gave me hope. I mean, their love and commitment of three years of engagement, but nine total years of being together culminated in a beautiful ceremony where I don’t remember much of what was said because I couldn’t look away from the pure emotion on the couple’s faces.
It was inspiring and hopeful, and I just need to talk about it somewhere because I know that they’ve gone through so much, that it was wonderful to witness that commitment up close.
Congratulations, Yael and Nate. You guys deserve the best.
"Hopefully you remember us from Caroline Lee’s engagement party. I’m William Darcy and this is my… fiancée, Lizzie Bennet. We want to know if you’d be interested in planning a wedding in San Francisco."
